| Marjorie J. Purdy, age 100 of Georgetown, Ohio died Thursday July 29, 2010 at the Meadowwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Georgetown, Ohio. She was a homemaker. Marjorie was born on May 5, 1910 in Georgetown, Ohio daughter of the late Alva and Ada (Hanselman) Johnson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband – Carl Robert Purdy in 1997, and one sister – Gwendolyn Miller.
Mrs. Purdy is survived by two daughters – Eleanor Purdy and Carolyn Tucker both of Georgetown, Ohio; one granddaughter – Joan Shipley of Pataskala, Ohio and one great granddaughter – Chelsea Shipley of Pataskala, Ohio.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday July 31, 2010 at the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. Rev. Tom Friskney will officiate. There will be no visitation. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. Linda D. Hatton, 57, of Mowrystown, OH, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, OH.
She was born December 9, 1952 in Hamilton County, OH, daughter of Robert Crosby and Catherine (Garside) Crosby .
Linda worked at Crestwood Nursing Center in Hillsboro for 22 years.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth W. Hatton of Mowrystown, whom she married January 31, 1976, 1 daughter, Kami (Jeremy) Page of Mowrystown, OH, 2 sons, Jamie Hatton of Mowrystown, Bryan (Marjorie) Hatton of Hillsboro, her Mother, Catherine Crosby, of Sardinia, 7 grandchildren, Samantha Duffy, Destiny Beatty, Luke Page, Rebecca Kelch, Faith Kelch, Candice Hatton, Kristen Hatton, 2 Brothers, Roger (Becky) Crosby of Sardinia, Robert Crosby of Oklahoma City, OK, and 1 sister, Marsha Booth of Sharonville.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Robert Crosby and 1 grandson, Aaron Hatton.
Services will be held at Edgington Funeral Home, Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Bell's Run Cemetery, Mowrystown.

She is survived by five children-Earl Larry Mahan of Great Bends, Kansas, Frank A. Scheidt of Savannah, Georgia, Michael J. Scheidt of Batavia, Ohio, Donna Fay Lytle of Newark, Ohio and Debra S. Scheidt of Georgetown, Ohio; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

| Richard A Lewis, 51, of West Union, OH died Monday, July 26, 2010 at his home. He was born in West Union, OH on November 19, 1958 to the late Walter "Bub" and Edna Faye Young Lewis.
He was a Boilermaker for the Ershing Company.

| Flora Mae Bruist, age 97 of Georgetown, Ohio died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Meadowwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Georgetown, Ohio. Mrs. Bruist was a homemaker and a member of the Apple Street Christian Holiness Church. She was born on May 11, 1913 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky the daughter of the late Tom and Maude (Rice) Stacy. She was also preceded in death by her husband - Robert Bruist and one daughter – Nancy Thomas.
Mrs. Bruist is survived by one son – Robert W. Bruist of Georgetown, Ohio, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Georgetown Church of Christ, 149 Hamer Road, Georgetown, Ohio. Rev. Fred Thomas will officiate. Paul Allen "Bo" Mitchem, 41, of Mt. Orab, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 in Mt. Orab.
He was born March 6, 1969 in Columbus, the son of Anna and Mike Vrablic of Mt. Orab.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Linda Mitchem of West Union; three sons, Paul Allen Mitchem Jr. of Sterling, Ky., Joseph Richendollar of Winchester, and Joshua Mitchem of Amelia; two daughters, Jessica Jetter of Mt. Orab and Ashley Mitchem of West Union; six stepchildren, Brandon Browning, Nicholas Browning and Jacob Browning, Holly Woods, all of Sardinia, Derek Wilson and Craig Wilson, both of West Union; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, John Bays of Winchester and Miles Bays of Georgia; and one sister, Anna Skaggs of Xenia.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, July 29 at Megie Funeral Home, located 104 Spice Street, in Mt. Orab. Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at the funeral home. Pastor Dave Long will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Orab Cemetery. |
| James H Tomlin, 83, of Manchester, OH died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the Adams County Regional Medical Center. He was born in Monroe Township, OH on February 20, 1927 to the late Herman and Gladys Creamer Tomlin.
He was a WWII Army veteran and a former Welded Wire employee, a former Dry Cleaner and a former member of the Manchester V.F.W.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nora Blythe Tomlin in 1991.
He is survived by his daughter: Barbara Tomlin of Manchester, OH, his sister: Garnett Blythe of Manchester, OH and his grandson: Darrin McNeilan of Richmond, VA.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, July 28, at Wilson Home for Funerals. Rev Dale Little will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Manchester Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. |
| Robert Preston “Van” Vandawalker, age 89 of Mt.Orab, Ohio died Saturday, July 24, at the Villa Georgetown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Georgetown, Ohio. He was an expert rifleman for the United States Marine Corp and a WWII veteran, the 1960 Midwest Road Racing Champion of the U.S. and a retired Sales Manager for the Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company. He also had the honor of trying out for the P.G.A. Senior Tour of 1992. In addition to being a member of the National Rifle Association, Van was an avid golfer at the White Oak Golf Course in Mt.Orab, Ohio and Cypress Lake Golf Course in Ft. Myers, Florida. He was a member of the congregation of the Sardinia United Methodist Church where he often sang. Van was born April 11, 1921 in St. Joseph, Missouri the son of the late Edward and Mary (Brown) Vandawalker.
Mr. Vandawalker is survived by his loving wife – Betty (Lewis Fussnecker) Vandawalker; five daughters – Tiffany Arnold and Vanessa Vandawalker both of Westerville, Ohio, Sherri Grooms of Linden, Tennessee, Karen Guthrie of Loveland, Ohio and Nancy Vandawalker of Arizona; eleven stepchildren – Anthony Fussnecker of Russellville, Ohio, Jill Edmisten and husband Sam of Sardinia, Ohio, Mary Martin of Georgetown, Ohio, Diane Scheadler of Aberdeen, Ohio, Bernard Fussnecker and wife Lisa and Nick Fussnecker and wife Kim all of Russellville, Ohio, Rachel Spornhauer of Winchester, Ohio, Stephanie Wardlow and husband Mark of Georgetown, Ohio, Laura Graham of Brownstown, Ohio, Monica Boler and husband Jeff of Mt.Orab, Ohio and Stuart Fussnecker of Russellville, Ohio and one brother – Raymon Vandawalker of Branson, Missouri.

Nelson Brooks Allen, 85, of Mowrystown died Saturday, July 24, 2010.
He is survived by four sons: Larry, Bruce, Jim, Mike; three daughters: Donita Kimberly, Faye Laub, Brenda Gray; one sister: Geneva; 21 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren one great great grandchild.

Harry Robert Roush, 92, of Bentonville, Ohio died Thursday, July 22, 2010.
He is survived by son, Robert Lee (Mary Lee) Roush of Sprigg Township; daughter, Mary Sue (Ronnie) McDaniel of Bentonville; sister, Helen Grooms of Manchester; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

Marilyn G. Stepp, 55, of Ashville, Ohio, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Adams County Regional Medical Center in Seaman. She was born November 2, 1954, in West Union. She was preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Edna Mae (Evans) Stepp, Jr.
Marilyn is survived by daughter, Elizabeth (Stepp) Rains of Winchester; two brothers: Greg Stepp of Jefferson Township and Steve (Linda) Stepp of Meigs Township; four sisters: Darlene (Dan) Nichols of Williamsburg, Elaine Stepp of Sandy Springs, Georgia, Fern Mathews of Oliver Township, and Beverly (Jeffrey) Smith of Lucasville; three grandchildren: Cameron Rains, Corey Rains, and Caytie Rains, all of Winchester; one aunt, Helen Riggs of Sarasota, Florida; and many nephews and nieces.
She was the current Administrator of Pickaway Manor in Circleville, and was a former Administrator for Monroe County Care Center in Woodsfield for 11 years.
She was a 1972 graduate of Jefferson High School in Blue Creek, and was a 1994 graduate of Wilmington College in Wilmington. She was a member of The Portsmouth Church of God.

Alice (King) Ward, 75 years of Seaman, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Adams County Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Piketon, Ohio on February 12, 1935 the daughter of the late Charles and Retha (McCoy) King.
Alice attended the Union Hill Community Church and the Winchester Church of Christ.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ward, who passed away on April 7, 2006 and one sister; Ina King.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law; Robert and Brenda Ward of Seaman, son Larry Ward of Chicago, daughter and son-in-law; Kathy and Fred Davis of Cincinnati, sister; Rosemary Beekman of Piketon, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Phil Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.

Grace A. Thompson, age 71, of Canal Winchester, died Monday July 19, 2010 at Newark Health Care Center. Born May 2, 1939 in Peebles to the late John Clarence & Anna Christina (Lorenzo) DeAtley, she was a graduate of Peebles High School. She was retired from Lucent (computer machine operations) after 31 years of service, and was a member of the Pioneers Club and Eastpointe Christian Church.
Survived by her husband of 53 years, Carl Dean Thompson; children, Teresa Lindsey, David (Dianne) Thompson, Mark (Susan) Thompson, Mike Thompson, Jeffrey (Anni) Thompson; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Agnes “Geraldine” Johnson, Alice “Christine” (Charles) Brewer, Cora “Evelyn” (Theron) Shoemaker, Judy “Carol” Call, Susan “Claire” Willoughby; brother, John (Louise) DeAtley; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by sister, Delores “Jean” Weiler.

Wilma Stubbs, 75 years of Lake Waynoka, passed away Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 at Anderson Mercy Hospital in Clermont County.
She was born in Pike County, Ohio on August 18, 1934 the daughter of the late Harrison Williams and Elsie Dunn.
Besides her father and mother she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Tolle and brother Jimmy Williams.
She is survived by her husband William Stubbs, two sons and daughters in law, Mike and Rebecca Tolle of Seaman, and Mark and Roxy Tolle of West Union, one daughter and son in law, Karen and Roger Baker of Eckmansville, one sister, Mary Scott of Waverly, two sisters in law, Betty Yovich of Wilmington, and Peggy Williams of Waverly, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Wilma attended the Winchester Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 24th , 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman with Reverend Dan Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Leigh Cemetery.

Roger F. Camp, 68, of Hillsboro, died on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at his residence.
He was born July 8, 1942 in Wilmington, Ohio the son of the late Alfred and Norma Jean (Dawson) Camp.
He is survied by his wife, Judy Camp of Hillsboro, three sons, Tony Camp, Brian Camp and Terry Camp, one sister, Jeanie (Chris) Cluxton, of Wilmington, six grandchildren, Leslie (Nick) Burkitt, Lindsai (Nick) Murphy, Tiffany Camp, Shaunna (Josh) Keets, Travis Camp and Cody Camp, six great-grandchildren, Josh, Kenna and Jordan Keets, Jarrett Burkitt, Logan and Lillian Murphy. He was loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and his church family.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly Sue Lyons, who passed away the day before he did, and two brothers Kenny and Bruce Camp.
Services will be held at the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, in Hillsboro, on Saturday, July, 24, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mark Whitt officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12-2 p.m. Saturday with sevices to follow.
Mr. Camp was a member of the Elmville Church of Christ in Christian Union.

Kimberly S. Lyons, age 49 , of Hillsboro, died on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at her residence.
She was born December 3, 1960 in Washington Court House, Ohio the daughter of the late Roger Camp, who passed away the day after she did, and Judy Camp of Hillsboro.
She is survived by her husband Greg Lyons of Cincinnati, one daughter, Shaunna (Josh) Keets of Hillsboro, three grandchildren, Josh, Kenna, and Jordan Keets of Hillsboro, mother, Judy Camp, of Hillsboro, her Mother-in-law, Fay Lyons, of Cincinnati, three brothers, Tony Camp, Brian Camp, Terry Camp, four nephews, seven nieces, seven great- nephews and five great- nieces. She was loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kimberly was preceded in death by one son, Timmy, grandparents Alfred and Norma Camp, and Laurence and Ruth Davis.
Services will be held at the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro, on Saturday, July, 24, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mark Whitt officiating.

She was a former Nurses Aide and a homemaker. She belonged to the Manchester American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband: Roger Meyer of Manchester, OH, 3 sons: Mitchell (Kathy) McDaniel of Jacksonville, FL, Bruce (Lori) Meyer and David Meyer both of Manchester, OH, 2 daughters: Linda Lute of West Union, OH and Amy (David) Lofton of Manchester, OH, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Rudolph Lee Helfenstine, age 71, of Feesburg, Ohio passed away Monday, July 19, 2010, at the Meadow Wood Care Center, Georgetown, Ohio. He was born in Covington, Kentucky, December 12, 1938, the son of the late Paul and Cordie (McQuirey) Helfenstine.
He served his country in the United States Army and retired from the News Democrat as a Dark Room Technician.
Rudolph is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Linda Lou (Pitzer) Helfenstine of Feesburg, Ohio; Mother-in-law, Frances Pitzer of Hamersville, Ohio;
2 Brothers, Jerry Helfenstine and Melvin Helfenstine both of Georgetown, Ohio; 2 Sisters, Joyce Scolletta, of Omaha, Nebraska; and Alma Jeanne Rack of Georgetown, Ohio; Sister-in-law, Deborah Stratton of Hamersville, Ohio; and Several Nieces & Nephews.

| Martin Caplinger, 45, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010, surrounded by family and friends, at home under the care of hospice. Martin was preceded in death by his father William Earl Caplinger and his cremains will be buried next to his father in Calvary Cemetery in Seaman, OH as Martin requested. Martin is survived by his mother, Sarah Boldman of Peebles, OH; his sisters, Shirley Young, Rosemary Miller, Jeannie Sullender; and his brothers, Roger Caplinger, Paul Caplinger, Charles Caplinger and Tommy Caplinger. Martin is also survived by two step-brothers, Eugene Taylor and Clyde Taylor. Martin was raised in a rural setting in Athens County, OH and could figure out how to fix just about anything. This was a trait that served him well as an employee of Patterson Merkle & Associates where he worked as a maintenance man for the past 8 years. Martin was a very hard worker, he loved a good time and had a huge heart. Martin spent his final days at home surrounded by those who loved him and his faithful dog, Rufus, who he adored. A special thank you to his dear friends, Diane Sparks, Greg Shute and Scott Hickey who along with many devoted friends helped to care for Martin in the final weeks of his life. Melvin H. Green, 82, of Russellville passed away on July 14, 2010. He was employed with Milacron for 24 ½ years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arnheim. He loved to pour concrete, but his greatest passion was his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He was born November 1, 1927 in White, South Dakota. He was the son of the late Thomas & Rosa (Laabs) Green. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Francis and Willis, 4 sisters, Irene Ward; Marge Righi; Luella Helekson; and Mavis Finstad.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Evelyn (Kriech) Green; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Larry & Donna of Amana, Iowa; Doug & Lynn Green of Russellville; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Rodenberg and Ken Parrett of Batavia; Vicky Yates of West Union; and Kim and Mark White of Georgetown; 2 Sisters, Elma Herr and Marie Egeberg; and 1 brother, Wilbur;
12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 18th at the Meeker Funeral Home in Russellville from 5-8 PM. The funeral mass will be Monday, July 19th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arnheim at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at the Linwood Cemetery in Russellville.

Irene Reed, 82, of Maysville died Tuesday July 13, 2010 at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. She was the widow of O. C. Reed who passed away February 18, 2004.
She was born in Mason County March 15, 1928 to the late James Bruce and Mayme Sweet Hornback.
Irene is survived by her daughter Diana (Donald) Boone of Aberdeen, OH two grandsons Dustin Driskell, and Jeffrey M. Reed, Jr. and her granddaughter Dawn Tucker.
Besides her parents and her husband O. C., her son Jeffrey M. Reed preceded her in death.
Two brothers George Hornback and Rev. Ed Hornbank and four sisters Geneva Hampton, Mary Legge, Ethel Arnold and Christine Muse also preceded her in death.
Services for Irene Reed will be 11 a.m. Friday July 16, 2010 at Brell & Son Funeral Home the Rev. Mason Harrod officiating.
Interment will follow in Olivet Church Cemetery

Mrs. Jean Perraut Brewer, 76, of 2936 Reed Rd., Lincolnton, GA entered into rest on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Brewer was born March 4, 1934 in Mason County the daughter of the late Louis Joseph and Lena Gallenstein Perraut. She was married to Robert A. Brewer on June 4, 1955 and they spent 49 years together before his death on December 10, 2004. Mrs. Brewer was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Robert A. Brewer, Jr. and wife, Leigh of Lincolnton, Georgia; two daughters, Dorothy Ann Swartz and husband, Dave of Boca Raton, Florida and Carla Rae Jones of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; two sisters, Louise Finn of Maysville, Kentucky and Ann Finn of Germantown, Kentucky; one brother, Walter Perraut of Maysville, Kentucky; six grandchildren, William Jones, Megan Jones, Kyle Brewer, David Brewer, Orion Schwartz and Lena Schwartz; two great granddaughters, Jolena Underwood and Ashley Brewer.
Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by four brothers, Louis Perraut, Joseph Perraut, John Perraut and Edward Perraut.
The Mass will be a 1 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 at Saint Patrick Church in Maysville, Kentucky with Rev. Matthew Cushing officiating. Burial will be at Washington Cemetery, US 68 in Washington, Kentucky.

Hanson E. Duncan, age 63, of the Sugartree Ridge Community, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital.
He was born August 15, 1946 in Hillsboro, OH, son of the late Howard Mitchell Duncan and Lucena Temple Duncan .
He was a member of the American Pool Players Association, and owned and operated Duncan's Engine Service.
Survivors include one daughter, Paula Ranee (Paul) Duncan of AZ, one son, Randy E. (Kristal) Duncan of Mowrystown, OH, one grandson, Brandon Levi Duncan of Hillsboro, OH, one sister, Linda (Don) Chrisman of Allensburg, OH, special friend, Gloria Caldwell of Sugartree Ridge, OH, two nephews, Kevin (Marco) Chrisman, Kelly Chrisman, two aunts, June Duncan, Ethel Duncan, and several cousins.
In addition to his parents, Hanson was preceded in death by one son, Rob Duncan.

| Albert Earl “TV Al” Catron, Jr., age 79 of Aberdeen, Ohio and formerly of Ripley, Ohio, died Monday, July 12, 2010 at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. He was a United States Marine Corp. Korean War Veteran. After serving in the Marine Corp., Al worked as a civilian for the Department of the Army as a radar and missile guidance systems maintenance supervisor for twenty years. After retiring from the Department of the Army, Al owned and operated Al’s TV in Ripley, Ohio for twenty two years. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Spring Hill, Florida, the Moose Lodge in Maysville, Kentucky and the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180 of Georgetown, Ohio.
Al was born November 29, 1930 in Aberdeen, Ohio the son of the late Albert Earl and Laura Alice (Young) Catron, Sr.. He was also preceded in death by his wife of fifty five years, Lois Jean (Bice) Catron and an infant brother, Donald Catron.
Al is survived by one daughter, Gail Jones and husband Bill of Maysville, Kentucky; one son, David Catron and wife Elsie of Mayslick, Kentucky; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Sharon Mitchell and husband Rufus of Maysville, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Scott Asman will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday. Interment will follow the funeral service in Charter Oak Cemetery in Aberdeen, Ohio.

She was a member of the West Union Southern Baptist Church and a former homemaker. She leaves behind a host of friends from Highland Park Baptist Church in FL.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband: Carl Kirschner in 1982, and her 2nd husband: Charles Rohrback in 1999.

Richard Lee "Rick" Phillips, 50, of Mt. Orab, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in Mt. Orab.
He was employed in construction at Colonial Post and Fence.
Mr. Phillips was born Nov. 21, 1959 in Cincinnati, the son of Emily Jane Tankersly Phillips and the late Jack Wayne Phillips Sr. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Brian Phillips.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cecelia L. Ratliff of Mt. Orab; two daughters, Baylee Phillips of Mt. Orab and Tralana Phillips of Mt. Healthy; one son, Bryan Phillips of Mt. Orab; four sisters, Melissa Voils, Denise Harris and Krista Meece, all of Russell Springs, and Michelle Brandenburg, of Bethel; three brothers, Jack Phillips of Georgetown, Jeff Phillips of Amelia and Greg Phillips of Bethel; and two grandchildren.

Dale Daugherty age 45 of West Union, Ohio died Monday July 5, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Daugherty was born February 20, 1965 the son of Leroy and Hazel (Hensley) Daugherty in Lansing, Michigan.
Mr. Daugherty attended the Ashland Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents Leroy and Hazel Daugherty of Norwood, Ohio; fiancé Flonnie Annette Naegele of West Union, Ohio; two daughters, Tiffany Daugherty of Kentucky and Brittany Naegele of West Union; two sons, Ryan Daugherty of West Union and Dale Daugherty Jr. of Kentucky; one sister, Tonya Judd of Norwood Ohio, two brothers, Ronnie McCartin of Norwood Ohio, Randy Daugherty of Michigan.

He was retired from Hines, Inc where he was a Riverboat Captain. Sherdie was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of the Matthews-Carter American Legion Post 325 and the Richard L Dryden VFW Post 8287.

She was also prceded in death by her husband, Orlie, one son, James, one sister, Eileen Walsh, three brothers, Walter, James and Richard, and son-in-laws, Elburn Malott and William Kelsey.
She was a home maker and is survived by daughters Beverly Malott, of Mt. Orab, Kathie Kelsey, of Mt. Orab, brother, Joseph Wallingford, of California, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was a lifetime farmer, school bus driver for the Eastern School District for 25 years, and a member of the Ash Ridge Christian Church.

Carl R. Evans, 70 years of Lynchburg, OH., died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the University Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was born March 16, 1940 in Highland County, OH, the son of the late David P. Evans and Louise Thompson Burkitt of Urbana, OH.
Carl was a lifelong farmer along with a construction business and mowed state highways for several years.
Beside his mother, he is also survived by his wife Dianne (Harrison) Evans, two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Teresa Evans of Hillsboro, OH., Daniel and Lisa Evans of Lynchburg, OH., three daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Mark Leininger of Hillsboro, OH., Jenny and Billy Mefford of Peebles, OH., Liberty Harrison of Lynchburg, OH., one step-son and step daughter-in-law, Bradley and Crystal McCravy of Lynchburg, OH., two step daughters and step son-in-law, Lesha Harrison of Kentucky, Casandra and Tom Lekrone of New Vienna, OH., four brothers, Richard Evans of Urbana, OH., David Evans of Arkansas, Steve Evans of Springfield, OH., Rick Evans of Hillsboro, OH., four sisters, Paula Ball of Florida, Linda Tissott of Wilmington, OH., Debbie Wright of Urbana, OH., Marcia Bailey of Urbana, OH., 20 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

She was a retired clerk for the Village of Georgetown, the Brown County Common Pleas Court and the clerical department of the Brown County General Hospital. She also was a member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church and the Brown County Democrat Club. Idella was born April 1, 1930 in Russellville, Ohio the daughter of the late Alton H. and Maude (Prine) Bauer.
Ms. Bauer is survived by three sons – Ray Wisby and wife Sharon of Georgetown, Ohio, Jon Wisby of Bloomington, Indiana and Charles Utter and wife Regina of Georgetown, Ohio; five grandchildren – Jackie Amenn and husband Harry of Maineville, Ohio, Jenny Weaver and husband Paul of Mt.Orab, Ohio, Melissa Cabrera and husband David of Dayton, Kentucky, Kyle Utter and Shannon Utter and wife Heather all of Georgetown, Ohio; nine great grandchildren; one brother – Alton J. Beryl Boggs Griffith, 89, died Saturday, June 25, at her home. She was born on July 11, 1920 to the late Robert Bruce and Lucy Meadows Boggs.
She was a member of the Germantown United Methodist Church and a Kentucky Colonel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Barrett Griffith, Sr who passed away Oct 29, 2004.
She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Griffith (Billy) Gilbert of Lexington and Rebecca Griffith (Bob) Semple of Winchester, OH and a son, Roy "Barry" (Sherri) Griffith, Jr. of Winchester, OH; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters,Ruth Shannon of Whittier, CA, Opal Jett of Brooksville, and Maude Teegarden of Germantown. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Gwendolyn Griffith and Jacqueline Griffith Mullins; three brothers, John Boggs, Harvey Boggs, and Charles Boggs and a sister, Jeanie McGee.

Maurine Moore, 78 years of Maysville, Kentucky, formerly of Cherry Fork, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.
She was born in Fleming County, Kentucky on October 13, 1931 the daughter of the late Herbert D. and Madeliane (Todd) Colliver.
Maurine attended the Countryside Church of Christ and was a former grocery store owner in Cherry Fork.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers; Bud and Jimmy Colliver.
She is survived by her husband of sixty two years, Charles E. Moore of Maysville, Kentucky, one son and daughter-in-law; Terry and Beverly Moore of Cincinnati, one daughter and son-in-law; Jo and Rob Hall of Maysville, Kentucky, one sister-in-law; Vera Colliver of Winchester, four grandchildren; Sean Moore of Cincinnati, Charlie Moore of San Diego, California, Carla Moore of Cincinnati, and Sara Jo Hall of Orlando, Florida, two great grandchildren; Roger Moore and Emma Moore, two step grandchildren; Jill and Nick, and several nieces and nephews.

Burgess Varney age 69 of Blue Creek, Ohio died Thursday June 24, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Varney was born June 24, 1941 the son of the late Ernest Varney and Lula (Farley) Varney in Mingo, West Virginia.

Mrs. Swayne attended the Church of Christ and Christian Union Church in Winchester, Ohio.

Junior Hilterbran, 85 years of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Crestwood Nursing Home.
He was born in Adams County, Ohio on June 22, 1925 the son of the late Layton and Anna (Swayne) Hilterbran.
Junior was a U.S. Marine Veteran of World War II.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Anna (McCalla) Hilterbran, who passed away on February 15, 1995.
He is survived by one son; Bruce Hilterbran of Pensacola, Florida, two daughters; Cathie Cooper of Grove City and Teresa Hiser of Mt. Orab, one brother; Jack Hilterbran of Peebles, and two sisters; Ruby Gillety of New Holland, Ohio and Joan Hooker of Peebles.

Jeffrey Baker, age 46, of West Union, Ohio died Wednesday June 23, 2010 at the Adams County Regional Medical Center. Mr. Baker was born August 17, 1963 in Melbourne, Florida, the son of the late Robert E. Delong and Joan (Smith) Delong.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ann (Young) Baker of West Union, Ohio; two sons, Austin Baker and Quentin Baker of West Union. One sister, Penny Baker and one brother Bobby Baker of Melbourne, Florida.

Ival Virginia Franklin, age 93 of Winchester, Kentucky died Tuesday June 22, 2010 at Fountain Circle Health and Rehabilitation in Clark County Kentucky. Mrs. Franklin was born June 2, 1917, the daughter of the late Prince Edward and Cora Phynetta (Holbrook) Holcomb in Millstone Kentucky.
Mrs. Franklin was a member of the Church of God.

Mrs. Davis was born in Mason County on May 3, 1923 to the late Calvin E. and Sadie Willie Long Dugan. She was a homemaker.

Sue Etta Arrasmith, 64, died Sunday June 20, 2010 at her home in Plumville. She was the widow of John Arrasmith, Jr. who passed away January 11, 2008.
Mrs. Arrasmith was born on March 8, 1946 in Lewis County to Millie McCall Mason and the late Lawrence Mason. She was retired from Browning Manufacturing and was an active member of the Plumville Church of Christ.
In addition to her mother, Sue is survived by one son, Jeffrey Allen Arrasmith and his fiancé Angie Lennex; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann Arrasmith and her fiancé, Brandon McFerron of Sharonville, Ohio and Christi Arrasmith Williamson and her husband David of Tollesboro; a great-granddaughter, Peyton Renee Williamson; four brothers, Randy Mason of Tollesboro, Wendell Mason and Elston “Shep” Mason both of Trinity, Eldon (Vanessa) Mason of Mason County; two sisters, Bonnie Varvell of Mays Lick, and Marcy (Craig) Tinnes of Mt Sterling; and several nieces and nephews.

Virginia Wilson Adkins, of Maysville died Saturday June 19, 2010 at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Adkins was born in Trinity, Kentucky on Oct. 3, 1924 to the late George Franklin and Huldah McDonald Hughes. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and loved flowers.
Survivors include her husband William M. Adkins; two brothers Eugene Hughes of Arizona, and Howard Hughes and his wife Willena of Maysville; a sister-in-law, Dora Russell of Orangeburg; and several nieces nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Maxine Clark, 73 years of New Vienna, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at her residence.
She was born in Hillsboro, Ohio on February 17, 1937 the daughter of the late Noah and Donna (Jones) Moore.
Maxine was a member of the NRA and on the Lynchburg Life Squad.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Clark who passed away on January 12, 1981.
She is survived by two sons; Chuck and Tim Clark both of New Vienna and three grandsons; Steve, Spencer, and Chas.

Dan (Bear) Reed, 55 years of Lima, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Clinton Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Wilmington, Ohio on April 5, 1955.
He was preceded in death by his step brother Deron Reed.
Dan was a member of the Peebles Masonic Lodge #581 and the American Legion.
He is survived by his father Gene Reed of Peebles, his mother Betty (Stephens) Shadley of Lima, his wife Karren (Allen) Reed whom he married on February 10, 1979 of Lima, one daughter; Jessica Reed of Columbus, three brothers; Fred Reed of Lima, Maverick Matthews of Stanton, Kentucky, Shawn Matthews of Lima, and several nieces and nephews.

James D. Hilterbrandt, 77 years of Piketon, OH., died Friday June 18, 2010 at The Hickory Creek of Athens.
He was born May 18, 1933 in Pike County, OH., the son of the late Oscar Layton and Nora Alice (Miller) Hilterbrandt. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Edward, Lloyd and Jesse Hilterbrandt, two sisters Alpha Jones and Alma Hilterbrandt.
He is survived by one sister Dollie Hilterbrandt of Piketon, OH., one brother Joe Hilterbrandt of Piketon, OH., several nieces and nephews.
Jim was a Gunsmith by vocation and an avid outdoors man.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring.

Stanley F. Bloyer, 93 years of Ripley, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Adams County Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on August 8, 1916 the son of the late Stanley and Cathryn (Miller) Boyer.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers.
Stanley retired as the Chief Engineer and National Sales Manager for Gloucester Engineering Corporation in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
He is survived by his wife Ruth (Wheeler) Bloyer of Ripley, whom he married on February 25, 1945, one son and daughter-in-law; Captain Stanley F. Bloyer (USN ret.) and Harma Bloyer of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, one daughter; Marsha Thigpen of Peebles, one sister and brother-in-law; Lois and Robert Edgar of Kaneohe, Hawaii, sister-in-law; Shirley Bloyer of Birmingham, Michigan, two grandchildren; Douglas Thigpen of Ripley and Meghan Thigpen (Mrs. Steve Moss) of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, and one great grandson; Carter Moss of South Pittsburg, Tennessee.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley with a memorial service immediately following.

Deloris Mae Kitchen, 73, of Rogers Road, passed away at her residence on Sunday June 13, 2010. Mrs. Kitchen was born on June 20, 1936 in Cynthiana to the late James and Anna Gertrude Burden Sosby. She was a graduate of Minerva High School and had worked for Wald Manufacturing, US Shoe, January and Wood and RCA in Indiana. She was so proud of her husband's service to his country during the Korean Conflict, that she recently made him a uniform to display his many honors including 3 Bronze Stars, and a Good Conduct Medal.

Russel W "Rusty" Poole, Jr. died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the McGruder Hospital in Port Clinton, OH. He was born in Maysville, KY on January 22, 1950 to the late Russel W and Avanell Stone Poole, Sr.
He graduated from Miami University in 1972 and in 1986 received his Masters of Education from the College of Mt St Joseph. He belonged to the Manchester United Methodist Church, was a Lay Delegate for the church, belonged to the 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, and was a member of the Manchester F&AM #317. He was a retired School Teacher from the Ohio Valley Local School District and a former Businessman of 4 Pizza Restaurants. He also was a High School coach for 25 years and did volunteer work for the Adams County Counseling Center.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Russel Poole. He is survived by his wife: Mary Ann Hodge Poole of Manchester, OH, 1 son: Adam (Jennifer) Poole of Manchester, OH, 1 daughter: Ann Marie Poole of Manchester, OH and 2 grandsons: Jackson Anthony Poole and Marshall Ward Poole.

Frieda Gladys Kirker, age 95 of Georgetown, Ohio died Monday, June 8, 2010 at the Meadowwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Georgetown, Ohio. She was a cook for the Ripley Union Lewis Huntington School District and a member of the Georgetown Church of Christ. Frieda was born March 26, 1915 in Ripley, Ohio the daughter of the late Elmer and Bertha (Shelton) Edmisten. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Burgess Kirker in 1978, one son – Randy Kirker in 2007, four brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Kirker is survived by one son – Gary Kirker of Owensville, Ohio; two daughters – Janice Meyer of Cincinnati, Ohio and Janet Harp of Georgetown, Ohio; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one sister – Millie Hampton of Georgetown, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Harry is survived by a son, Patrick Young and a daughter, Beth Black both of Manchester, OH, a sister, Mary H Grooms of West Union, OH, 3 grandchildren: Sean P Young of Batavia, OH, Michael Black and Micah Michelle Black both of San Rafael, CA and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris A Grimsley Young on March 24, 2009.
Mr Young was a WWII Army Veteran and retired from Wald Mfg in Maysville, KY.

Yolande was a member of the Peebles Church of Christ and the Peebles Lioness Club.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Billie Thorp, who passed away one January 13, 2007.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Earl and Heather Thorp of Peebles, four brothers; Dollard, Lucien, Maurice, and Laurier Laforest all of Canada, six sisters; Vennete Mcintyre of Oklahoma, Aurore Corbin of Cananda, Wilda Powers of Virginia, Geane Boudreau of Canada, Gloria Parent of Illinois, and Doreen Tierney of Illinois, two grandchildren; Whitnee and Codie, and three step grandchildren; Destanie, Darrell, and Chad.

Michael R. "Mike" Hall, 45 of Leesburg, died Friday, June 4, 2010 at his residence.
He was born at on August 3, 1964 in Dayton, OH. the son of Donald F. and Sandra S. (Miller) Hall of Peebles.
Mike was a machine operator at Ahresty Corporation in Wilmington.
Beside his parents Donald and Sandra Hall, he is survived by his wife Karen (Moore) Hall, two sons and daughter-in-law, Scott and Angie Hall of Cincinnati, OH., Gregory Hall of Hillsboro, OH., step son and step daughter-in-law, James and Mary Smith of Fort Lewis, Washington, step daughter and step son-in-law, Christine and Brent Stastny of Greenville, OH., four grandchildren, Adin Matthew Hall, James Smith, Logan Stastny, Lucas Stastny, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Clara (Yankey) Moore of West Union, OH..
Mike was preceded in death by a granddaughter Brailyn Hall, one brother Greg Hall.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Burial will follow in the Creech Family Cemetery.
